William Barnett a lifelong farmer was born about 1830 in Illinois and died in Gallatin County, Illinois sometime about 1900. He was married first to Elizabeth Hartwell Marable in Gallatin County, Illinois in 1846 and married second to Mary Songer in 1876, also in Gallatin County, Illinois.
William married his first wife, Elizabeth Hartwell Marable, in 1846 in Gallatin County, Illinois. She was born in Illinois about 1830 and died after the birth of Thomas in 1873 and before 1876 when William married his second wife.
